If you have been going to Hulu for awhile, you have no doubt found that the site is not quite perfect. For one thing, its organizational system is a little bit skewed in favor of “channels,” many of which force you to pick through a lot of junk to find the goodies. You may also have figured out that its connection speed is not the fastest, which forces you to either have a faster internet connection or do a lot of waiting while your videos load up into the cache. If you enjoy watching things in the same way you would if they were on TV or on a DVD you just pop in, you might be seriously disappointed with that particular issue. However, there are some ways that you can cope with both of these issues.
To start off, Hulu was organized by someone with a very strange sense of humor. It groups things such as horror movies together with detective shows, as if these two have very much in common with one another. In order to sort through the various types, it is necessary to open up the “horror” channel, and then open up a few of the different offerings listed therein. The key to finding a good flick on Hulu is to read the reviews — since nobody is being paid to lie, they all tell the unvarnished truth. And there really are some great flicks to be found, completely for free.
One way to beat the problem of slow loading times with Hulu (other than only having it open) is to wait until it is completely cached before you start watching. Often, you can coast through about 20 minutes of screen time before you have to load again, even if your download speed is not the best. A great way to pass the time is to also be reading something fun while your movie loads — it’s like taking a break.
